The Gold Camp Arts Foundation (formerly the Butte Opera
House Foundation) is a 501(c)3 public nonprofit
corporation to support community and professional events
at the theater.
The Butte Opera House Foundation
was established on Nov. 11, 2000, in an effort to restore
the tradition of classic melodrama to the Pikes Peak
region and to oversee the renovation and use of the
historic Butte Opera House. In 2009, the foundation
changed it’s name to The Gold Camp Arts Foundation, as
this name more fully reflects the varied and diverse goals
of the foundation.
Our mission is to provide support and resources to
establish and promote the arts within our community.
In addition to producing both professional and community
theater, the foundation has expanded its community work to
include workshops, scholarship opportunities, classroom
visits, and many opportunities for local talent to work
intimately with professional actors, directors, and
technicians from across the country.
